NewSTEPs is a national newborn screening resource center designed to provide data, technical assistance and training to newborn screening programs and assist states with quality improvement initiatives. Their website is an important tool in the newborn screening health community, but proved to be outdated and difficult to navigate. Working closely with colleagues, I helped establish an updated site map and wireframes for a better user experience. I then led the UI design of the website — creating high fidelity mockups, prototypes, and a design system — while closely adhering to the client’s established brand guidelines.
